The Traralgon Roundhouse is home to the Locomotive Restoration Group, and we are committed to restoring and maintaining the facility for use by groups in the Tourist and Heritage Rail sector.

The Traralgon Roundhouse is a 5 road roundhouse, but at one point it had 9! The Locomotive Restoration Group is leasing the site to restore it into an operational facility capable of servicing, maintaining and restoring broad gauge steam locomotives.
There is a 70′ turntable which is capable of turning heritage trains visiting Traralgon from around the state. Each roundhouse road has a pit, and there are signs of a drop pit (a special widened section of a pit to drop wheelsets from steam locomotives for servicing) once existing in the roundhouse.
